What Is The WebGuide?

The Partnership for Literacy's WebGuide is an online resource designed to maximize teacher time and school/district resources.  It provides a research-based approach to literacy instruction that deepens teachers' understanding of how to help students become stronger thinkers, learners, and doers. It also includes samples of ready-to-use classroom activities, lesson plans and units that teachers can try to engage students in learning and help them develop thinking and literacy skills. Click here to see an abbreviated list of content and some samples.

It also gives literacy coaches, department chairs, or others responsible for instructional support a fully developed professional development program that can be embedded in department, school, or district instructional improvement efforts.  The WebGuide was designed and organized to be used by these key school personnel to supplement and extend their work with literacy experts at introductory Partnership for Literacy institutes and occasional follow-up meetings.  It provides workshops for onsite use, guides for lesson planning with and observing teachers as they try more effective approaches, background reading, and more.  It can be tailored to meet individual district, school, teacher, and student literacy needs.
